Brick-Kiln Project

SHDO’s Brick-Kiln Project liberates bonded laborers—often trapped in inhumane working conditions—by providing legal aid, education, and alternative livelihoods. Many kiln workers, including children, endure exploitation with minimal wages. We intervene by negotiating with kiln owners for fair wages, enrolling children in schools, and offering adults vocational training (e.g., driving, carpentry) to escape cyclical debt.

Additionally, we advocate for policy reforms to eradicate modern-day slavery. By restoring dignity and self-sufficiency to these families, we challenge systemic oppression and pave the way for equitable economic participation in Pakistan’s rural heartlands.
